Minecraft introduces Packed Ice Bricks in new snapshot

Minecraft's 26.4 Snapshot 5 has introduced Packed Ice Bricks, a new set of building blocks designed for the upcoming winter update. These decorative blocks can be crafted by arranging four Packed Ice blocks in a 2x2 square using a crafting table or a stonecutter.

The new set includes several variants: slabs, stairs, walls, and chiseled blocks. The chiseled version features a snowflake symbol on all six sides. Unlike standard ice, these bricks will not melt near light sources, lava, or in warmer temperatures, and they are less slippery than base Packed Ice.

In addition to the new blocks, the snapshot introduces the ‘What Goes Around Comes Around’ advancement, which involves defeating Frostbite zombies with an Ice Ball. The update also includes gameplay changes, such as regular ice blocks emitting ambient sounds when placed in specific configurations.
