Minecraft to introduce new dimension ‘The Sift’ in 2027

Mojang Studios has announced that a new dimension, titled ‘The Sift’, will be added to Minecraft in 2027. This marks the first addition of a new dimension to the game since ‘The End’ was introduced in 2011.

‘The Sift’ is expected to feature unique biomes, such as Meadows and Carapace, along with new mobs, blocks, and survival mechanics. The dimension is described as having a distinct visual identity that is vibrant and soul-filled, offering different gameplay rules for players to learn.

Players will not have to wait until 2027 to see a preview of the new content. ‘The Sift’ will debut in the spin-off title ‘Minecraft Dungeons II’, which is scheduled for release on September 29, 2026. In that game, the dimension will be accessible through cracks that appear during gameplay.
