Minera Cielo Azul expands uranium exploration area in Valcheta
Minera Cielo Azul S.A. has filed requests for survey measurements covering more than 4,515 hectares for uranium exploration in the Valcheta mining district of Río Negro, Argentina.
According to the Official Gazette of Río Negro, the three files correspond to the areas Rolando I-A1, Don Javier II-A, and Don José I-D. These requests are linked to the discovery of carnotite, a high-quality mineral. The largest area, Don Javier II-A, encompasses 2,500 hectares, followed by Don José I-D with 1,915.97 hectares, and Rolando I-A1 with 100 hectares.
These administrative filings are part of the process to delimit and consolidate mining rights and do not constitute authorization for mineral exploitation. The mining authority has opened a period for third parties to present oppositions if they claim rights to the specified areas.
