Minera El Abra launches safety campaign for Ayquina pilgrims

Minera El Abra has launched a preventive safety campaign for pilgrims traveling to Ayquina for the traditional religious festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The initiative includes a support station located on Route 21-CH, a primary route for devotees in the Antofagasta region.

Participants are being provided with reflective bands, reusable water bottles, hydration stations, and brochures containing self-care recommendations. To complement these efforts, the mining company has also implemented an internal campaign for its drivers to promote preventive driving and respect for pedestrians on the road during the festivities.

Gonzalo Larroulet, Sustainability Manager at Minera El Abra, stated that the company has conducted these actions for many years to ensure the religious tradition is carried out as safely as possible.
