Mineral Resources posts record FY2026 production and cash surge
Australian miner Mineral Resources Ltd (MinRes) reported record output across its iron ore and lithium divisions for the 2025‑26 financial year. The flagship Onslow Iron operation in Western Australia produced 8.8 million wet metric tonnes and shipped a quarterly record 9.6 million tonnes in the June quarter, with freight costs of US$52 per wet tonne, below the US$54‑59 guidance range.
MinRes’ mining services division delivered 341 million tonnes in FY26, a 22 % rise over the prior year and above its upgraded target of 320‑330 Mt. Lithium sales reached a quarterly record 158,000 dry metric tonnes at an average price of US$2,425 per tonne, up 15 % quarter‑on‑quarter. The company completed a US$1.3 billion senior unsecured notes offering, increased liquidity to US$2.4 billion, cut net debt to about US$4.3 billion and added US$1.2 billion in cash, leaving US$1.6 billion in the bank by 30 June. Darren Killeen was appointed chief operating officer in early May.
