Minerals Commission warns of fraudulent recruitment scams

The Minerals Commission has issued an urgent disclaimer warning the public about fraudulent recruitment schemes targeting job seekers in the extractive sector. Unscrupulous individuals and unauthorized entities have been falsely offering employment and demanding illegal monetary payments, such as facilitation fees or down payments, to secure positions within the Commission.

Chief Executive Officer Isaac Tandoh and Commission management emphasized that recruitment into the public service is free. The Commission clarified that it has not contracted any agents or groups to conduct recruitment on its behalf.

To avoid exploitation, the Commission advised prospective applicants to rely exclusively on official channels for job advertisements, including national newspapers, the official website, verified social media handles, and recognized news portals. Individuals approached by unauthorized agents are encouraged to report such incidents to law enforcement agencies.
