Mineração Buritirama expands manganese operations in Pará

Mineração Buritirama is expanding its manganese operations in Pará, Brazil, through a strategy of specialization. Under the leadership of João José Oliveira Araújo, the company has focused its efforts on manganese, a critical raw material for steel production, rather than diversifying across multiple minerals.

The company operates the Buritirama Mine, which it identifies as the largest open-pit manganese mine in Latin America. With an annual production capacity exceeding 2.5 million tons, the operation serves both domestic Brazilian clients and international markets in Asia and Europe.
