Mineros de Zacatecas defeat Venados FC 5-1

Mineros de Zacatecas secured a dominant 5-1 victory over Venados FC during the fourth matchday of the Apertura 2026 Liga de Expansión MX. Although Venados took an early lead in the sixth minute through a left-footed shot by Alfonso Domínguez, Zacatecas quickly responded to shift the momentum.

Kevin Zapata equalized for Mineros in the 16th minute, followed by a long-range strike from Juan Machado in the 27th minute to take the lead. In the second half, Erick Carballo extended the advantage to 3-1, with subsequent goals from José Esquivel and Cooper Flores sealing the rout.

The defeat marks one of the heaviest losses for Venados in the division. With this result, Mineros moves to eight points in the standings, while Venados remains at seven points.
