A 64‑year‑old man identified as Raimundo Nonato Madeira was shot dead on the MGC‑120 highway in the Barra neighbourhood of Santa Maria de Itabira, Minas Gerais, on the night of 8 October. Police responded to reports of gunfire, found the victim already deceased, and arrested a suspect at the scene, seizing a firearm for forensic analysis. The investigation into motive remains ongoing.

In Itabuna, Bahia, 27‑year‑old Marcos Daniel Vieira dos Santos was killed by gunfire inside an automotive sound‑system shop on 7 October.
