Minga Guazú school students hospitalized after suspected food poisoning

Twelve students at an agricultural school in Minga Guazú, Alto Paraná, were hospitalized following a suspected food poisoning incident. The students reportedly fainted after consuming a breakfast consisting of chipa with cocido and sandwiches with condiments.

The incident occurred during a national intercollegiate sports competition for agricultural schools. Local volunteer firefighters provided oxygen to the affected minors before they were transported to medical facilities. One student was sent to a center in Yguazú, while the remaining eleven were taken to the Minga Guazú District Hospital.

School director Ever Ramírez noted that the symptoms appeared after breakfast but before the scheduled athletic competitions began. While health authorities are investigating, the exact cause of the illness has not yet been confirmed. Although other students consumed the same food, only the twelve identified students experienced medical complications.
