Mingau, of Ultraje a Rigor, shows progress in rehabilitation

Mingau, the 59-year-old bassist for the Brazilian band Ultraje a Rigor, has reached a new milestone in his recovery. In a video shared on social media, the musician was seen standing with the assistance of support equipment and physiotherapists during a session at a neuromodulation clinic.

The musician was shot in the head in September 2023 during a criminal attack in Paraty, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Following the incident, he underwent several surgeries, including a cranioplasty, and spent over a year hospitalized.

His daughter, Isabella Aglio, who manages the profile documenting his journey, described the clinic as a place that supports both his physical and emotional well-being. Since being discharged from Hospital São Luiz in São Paulo in October 2024, Mingau has focused on rehabilitating his motor and cognitive functions.
