Minha Melhor Amiga becomes Brazil's biggest domestic hit of the decade

The comedy film “Minha Melhor Amiga,” starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, has become the most successful Brazilian domestic production of the decade. Directed by Susana Garcia, the film reached 5.84 million spectators and earned approximately R$ 105 million after seven weeks of release.

The film’s performance surpassed the audience numbers of the 2025 Oscar winner for Best International Feature Film, “Ainda Estou Aqui.” It currently ranks as the 8th most-watched Brazilian film released since 2000 and holds the 10th position among all-time Brazilian box office leaders by ticket sales.

Director Susana Garcia has achieved significant commercial success with this production, which follows her previous hits such as “Minha Mãe É uma Peça 3.” The film saw a record-breaking distribution, launching in 1,531 rooms across 436 cities, and experienced a 230% increase in viewership following its opening period.
