Minha Melhor Amiga reaches 3 million viewers in Brazil

The Brazilian comedy film ‘Minha Melhor Amiga’, starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, has surpassed 3 million spectators within just two weeks of its release. According to data from Ancine, the film has become the 10th most-watched movie in Brazil in 2026, competing alongside major international productions.

The film’s performance is particularly significant within the domestic market; it accounts for more than half of the total audience for all 212 Brazilian films released in 2026, which have collectively reached approximately 6.07 million viewers. It is the third Brazilian production released since the pandemic to exceed the 3 million viewer milestone, following ‘Ainda Estou Aqui’ and ‘O Auto da Compadecida 2’.

Directed by Susana Garcia, the plot follows two friends traveling through Europe to visit their daughters in Portugal. The film’s rapid growth was bolstered by the ‘Semana do Cinema’ promotion, which saw a 158.75% increase in viewership during its second week.
