Minha Melhor Amiga tops Brazilian box office
The Brazilian comedy “Minha Melhor Amiga”, starring Ingrid Guimarães and Mônica Martelli, has topped the domestic box office, surpassing “Spider-Man: A New Day” after its release on September 3.
According to Rentrak data, the film earned R$ 11.4 million between September 3 and September 6, drawing 461,800 spectators. This performance marks the best debut for a Brazilian feature film in 2026 and ranks as the 10th largest opening of the year in the country. The film's success contributed to an overall 8.07% increase in the Brazilian film market during the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Distributed by Paris Filmes, the film is currently exclusive to theaters and has not yet announced a digital or streaming release date. Based on previous release patterns from the distributor, a digital release could potentially occur between November and December 2026.
