Mini Alcohol Bottles Boost US Spirits Sales

Alcohol manufacturers are expanding tiny‑bottle offerings as consumers look for affordable ways to keep premium brands. Companies such as Pernod Ricard, Bacardi and 818 Tequila have added 50‑ml (shot‑size) and 375‑ml formats, which recorded the largest market‑share gains in the first quarter, according to Nielsen data supplied by Bump Williams Consulting.

Pernod Ricard recently launched a 100‑ml Malibu rum and notes that overall US spirits sales fell 12 % in the third quarter. Executives say shoppers are not abandoning high‑end brands but are switching to smaller sizes to stretch discretionary income, allowing experimentation with new flavors while maintaining brand loyalty.
