MINI Countryman to debut Oct 2026 after Rocky Mountain testing

MINI is developing a rugged special‑edition of its Countryman SUV. A camouflaged prototype has been put through a series of off‑road trials in the Rocky Mountains of the United States, where it tackled rocky tracks, high‑altitude roads and variable weather to evaluate durability, traction and overall performance. The tests are part of the validation programme for the new version, which MINI plans to unveil at a global launch scheduled for October 2026.

The automaker has not released technical specifications such as powertrain, suspension setup or equipment levels. Brand head Jean‑Philippe Parain described the project as an extension of the Countryman’s adventure‑oriented positioning, but details on modifications remain confidential until the official presentation.
