MINI launches Rooftop Editions limited-run Cooper S models

MINI has announced the launch of the Rooftop Editions, a new limited-edition series based on the Cooper S two-door and four-door models. This release marks the fifth of eight planned ‘Icon Drops’ scheduled for 2026 to celebrate the brand's 25th anniversary.

The special edition focuses on a ‘color reversal’ design concept involving two primary colors: Indigo Sunset Blue Metallic and Melting Silver III Metallic. Buyers can choose between a blue body with a silver roof and mirror caps, or a silver body with a blue roof and mirror caps. To complement the exterior, the bonnet and tailgate feature color-matched stripes.

Interior features include John Cooper Works sport seats with Vescin Black upholstery and contrasting stitching. The models are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 201 horsepower and 299 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Additional features include adaptive cruise control, augmented reality navigation, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

In the United States, the two-door Cooper S starts at $39,995, while the four-door version starts at $40,995, excluding destination fees. Production is expected to begin in September, with deliveries to dealers starting in October.
