Mini PCs: From $1.7 million gold models to consumer discounts

A specialized Mini PC constructed from 24-karat gold has been introduced with a price tag exceeding $1.7 million. Based on the Kubb Fanless model, this version weighs 13 kg, significantly more than the standard 2.1 kg aluminum version. While the high cost is primarily due to the precious metal, the gold also serves a functional purpose as a thermal conductor, potentially transferring heat 30% to 50% faster than aluminum in this fanless design.

In the consumer market, GEEKOM is offering a discount on its A5 Pro 2026 Edition Mini PC. The device features an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1 TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. The promotional price is set at 439 euros through the manufacturer's official website until October 11.
