MiniMax H3 video model gains 5× speed via community LoRA; Seedance 2.5 benchmarked
A community developer released a LoRA adaptation for MiniMax's H3 multimodal video generation model that reduces diffusion sampling steps from about 20 to four‑to‑eight. The change cuts inference time by up to five times, allowing 15‑second clips to be generated at a fraction of the original cost while preserving most of the quality.
MiniMax highlighted the rapid improvement as an example of the benefits of open‑weight releases. In a separate analysis, the same platform was used to compare ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 with MiniMax H3. Seedance supports longer clips (up to 30 seconds) at 720p, while H3 outputs fixed 2K resolution but only up to 15 seconds. Audio handling also differs: Seedance can toggle audio off, whereas H3 always includes stereo audio. The comparison underscores trade‑offs between clip length, resolution, and post‑production workflow for developers choosing between the two models.
