Mining companies advance lithium and copper projects in Namibia

Mining companies in Namibia are advancing significant mineral exploration and production plans. Andrada Mining aims to bring its Lithium Ridge Project into production by 2028–2029. Following the completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study, the company is initiating an aggressive drilling program to define resources and reserves. The project, located on a 6km ridge, contains high-grade spodumene alongside tin and tantalum.

Separately, African Pioneer Plc is planning a multi-rig drilling campaign at its Ongombo and Ongeama copper projects. In partnership with Hong Kong-based Xinhai Mining Services Limited, the company intends to deploy up to four diamond drill rigs to gather data for geotechnical studies and mine design. This campaign aims to update the current 29 million tonne copper-equivalent resource at Ongombo.
