Mining companies launch drilling programs in New South Wales

Mining companies in New South Wales have commenced new drilling programs targeting gold and antimony deposits.

Argent Minerals has received regulatory approval to begin maiden drilling at the Trunkey Creek gold project. The Phase 1 program will consist of 10 diamond and reverse circulation drill holes totaling over 1,000 metres. The project aims to determine if high-grade gold mineralisation identified through surface sampling and historical data continues at depth. The area has a history of gold production dating back to the 1850s.

Red Mountain Mining has launched a 17-hole reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Oaky Creek prospect within its Armidale antimony-gold project. The program targets five priority zones identified through geophysics and soil sampling. One specific target at Oaky Creek South features an antimony-arsenic anomaly, with previous rock chip samples returning up to 39.3% antimony and 1.09g/t gold. The drilling is expected to last approximately three weeks, with assay results anticipated in the early December quarter.
