Mining companies report significant mineral discoveries in Sonora, Mexico

Mining companies Axo Metals and Algo Grande Copper have reported significant drilling successes at their respective projects in Sonora, Mexico.

Axo Metals announced high-grade gold oxide intercepts at its San Antonio flagship project. A step-out drill hole at Luz del Cobre intersected 46.5 meters with 1.43 g/t gold directly from the surface. Additionally, the Sapuchi deposit yielded grades of up to 11.71 g/t gold over 12.0 meters, suggesting potential for a high-margin open-pit mine. The company is currently using three drill rigs to bridge exploration gaps between zones.

Algo Grande Copper reported high-grade copper results from its Adelita project within the Cerro Grande skarn discovery. Drill hole AG-CG-PH2-002 averaged 30.23 meters with 1.5% copper equivalent (CuEq), including a high-grade core of 1.20 meters containing 15.8% CuEq. The mineralized horizon was found approximately 100 meters shallower than previously modeled. The company is continuing a 200-meter drilling program to further define the system.
