Mining sector entities in Peru and Chile advance modernization and technical training

The Geological, Mining, and Metallurgical Institute (INGEMMET) in Peru has launched a modernization initiative titled ‘INGEMMET to 2030: Our route, our vision’. Executive President Walther León Lecaros emphasized that the transformation aims to improve organizational processes, strengthen team capabilities, and deliver concrete results for citizens through better efficiency and continuous improvement.

In Chile, the Industrial and Mining Training Center (CEIM) has hosted several international delegations during the second half of the year to share expertise in technical training and mining technology. Representatives from organizations including Glencore, First Quantum Minerals (Cobre Panamá), and Vicuña visited to observe teaching methodologies and technological applications. Additionally, academic and philanthropic groups such as Tecnológico de Monterrey from Mexico and foundations from Argentina have engaged in dialogues regarding competency-based training and strategic alliances for labor development in the mining sector.
