Minions & Monsters faces box‑office slowdown in Vietnam and the US

The animated film *Minions & Monsters* has become a record‑breaker in Vietnam, reaching 80 trillion dong in ticket sales and on track to exceed 200 trillion dong, the highest opening‑day revenue ever for a Hollywood film in the market.

In contrast, its North‑American debut was modest, earning just $36 million from 4,243 theaters over the opening weekend and $61 million by mid‑week, well below forecasts and the performance of earlier Minions titles. Analysts attribute the weak start to audience fatigue after seven films in 16 years, despite positive critical reviews. With a production budget of $85 million, the film is expected to turn a profit but far less than previous entries in the franchise.
