Minisforum launches N5 Air-7640 NAS with AMD Ryzen 5

Minisforum has introduced the N5 Air-7640, a revised version of its N5 Air Network-Attached Storage (NAS) system. This new model replaces the previous Ryzen 7 255 processor with an AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS, a Zen-4 six-core processor with twelve threads and a clock speed of up to 5 GHz.

The device features extensive storage capabilities, including five SATA bays for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives and three M.2 NVMe slots. Minisforum claims a maximum total storage capacity of 174 TB, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 6. It also supports up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM via two SO-DIMM slots.

Connectivity options include dedicated 10-Gbps and 5-Gbps network ports, two USB4 ports, an OCuLink port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an internal PCIe x16 Gen4 slot. The system is compatible with Windows 11 Pro, Linux, and Minisforum’s proprietary MinisCloud operating system.
