Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman addresses Unismuh Makassar students

Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman addressed approximately 7,000 new students during the 2026/2027 academic year orientation at Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Makassar. During his guest lecture, Amran emphasized the importance of self-confidence, character building, and the necessity of consistency in pursuing long-term goals.

Amran advised students to move beyond mere theory, noting that while information on success is easily accessible via technology, the true challenge lies in the discipline of the process. He warned against wasting opportunities, stating that current negligence could lead to regret in the future. He also shared personal experiences regarding his own struggles as a student to illustrate that success requires hard work and resilience.

Unismuh Makassar Rector Abd Rakhim Nanda noted that the Minister's presence was intended to inspire leadership and national contribution among the youth. The event concluded with the Minister providing financial assistance to orphaned students, underprivileged students, and Al-Quran memorizers.
