Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury travels to US for FOBANA Convention

Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment and Minister for Labour and Employment, has departed for the United States to attend the 40th FOBANA Convention 2026. The three-day event is scheduled to take place from September 4 to September 6 at the Universal Hilton Convention Hall in Universal City, Los Angeles.

Organized by the Bangladesh Association of California, the convention is one of the largest gatherings for the Bangladeshi diaspora in North America. It is expected to draw thousands of expatriates, community leaders, and business professionals from various states across the United States and Canada. Minister Chowdhury is slated to serve as the chief guest during the opening ceremony on September 4.

During his visit, the Minister will participate in a business luncheon with the Mayor of Los Angeles on September 5, which will include award presentations and discussions with business leaders. His itinerary focuses on discussing the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates, bilateral trade and commerce, and labor market issues. He is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on September 8.
