Minister at James Talarico’s church questions Jesus’ existence

Reverend Babs Miller, a minister at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Austin, has made controversial statements regarding central Christian doctrines, according to undercover footage obtained by The Daily Wire. Miller, who has a long-standing relationship with Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico, questioned the historical existence of Jesus, comparing the uncertainty to debates surrounding the historical Buddha.

In the footage, Miller rejected the traditional belief that Jesus died to atone for humanity’s sins, stating, ‘Jesus was political. Jesus was put on that cross not to save us, they killed him.’ She also dismissed the account of the Virgin Birth, suggesting it may have originated from pagan traditions. Miller described her approach to religion as a 12-step program where one can ‘take what you want and leave the rest.’

Talarico, a frequent worshiper at the church, often references Jesus’s teachings in his political discourse regarding issues such as poverty, immigration, and LGBTQ rights. Miller has been a known figure in Talarico’s life since his childhood and served as a reference during his application to seminary.
