Minister Bak attends Council of Europe Sports Ministers Conference

Turkish Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak participated in the 19th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Sport in Monaco. The conference, themed “Safer and Healthier Sport for All Children,” included participation from ministers representing 17 countries and state ministers from 7 countries.

During his address, Minister Bak emphasized Turkey’s vision of creating a safe and inclusive sports ecosystem where no child is excluded due to economic, social, or physical barriers. He highlighted Turkey’s efforts to provide free activities through youth centers and sports facilities across 81 provinces, specifically noting projects aimed at increasing sports participation for refugees and children with disabilities.

Minister Bak also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stating that the international community cannot remain silent regarding human rights violations in conflict zones. Following an initiative by Turkey and with the support of other member states, a provision regarding the children in Gaza was added to the Council of Europe Sports Ministers’ Decision.
