Minister Dimas inspects infrastructure projects in Grevena
Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas visited the Grevena regional unit to inspect ongoing public infrastructure projects and discuss regional development. A primary focus of the visit was the modernization of educational facilities through the second phase of the ‘Marietta Giannakou’ program. This initiative, funded by a 100 million euro donation from Greece's four systemic banks, supports 238 schools nationwide.
In Grevena, works exceeding 420,000 euros are being carried out at the 2nd Junior High School and 2nd General Lyceum. These renovations include upgrading sanitary facilities, installing accessibility ramps for persons with disabilities, repairing roofs, reconstructing sports facilities, and performing electromechanical improvements. The Minister also inspected maintenance and renovation works at the Grevena Courthouse being conducted by KTYP S.A.
Dimas emphasized that the completion of the E65 highway axis will create new development opportunities for Grevena and the wider Western Macedonia region. During his visit, he also met with local officials, including the Mayor of Grevena and the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, to discuss regional infrastructure priorities.
