Minister distributes bicycles to 548 female students in Bogra

To mark the birthday of Barrister Zaima Rahman, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shaheb Alam distributed pink bicycles to 548 meritorious female students in the Shibganj and Mokamतला upazilas of Bogra.

The initiative, held at the Shibganj Pilot High School field, aims to facilitate easier transportation for female students, promote women's education, and encourage academic engagement. In addition to the bicycles, 1,500 students received mugs featuring Zaima Rahman's image.

Alongside the distribution, a two-day medical campaign provided free eye care and cataract surgeries to approximately 4,000 people in the region. During the event, Minister Mir Shaheb Alam emphasized the importance of protecting girls from social issues like child marriage and eve-teasing to ensure a safe educational environment.
