Minister Dody Hanggodo reviews KSPEAN Wanam development in Papua

Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo visited Kampung Wanam in Merauke, South Papua, to oversee the development of the National Food, Energy, and Water Self-Sufficiency Center (KSPEAN) Wanam. The project aims to strengthen national food, energy, and water security while creating new economic opportunities for local residents.

Minister Hanggodo emphasized that the development should diversify local livelihoods. By expanding agricultural activities, the government hopes to provide an economic alternative to the community's traditional reliance on the fishing sector.

In addition to economic development, the Ministry of Public Works is planning to support social and religious infrastructure. This includes renovating the Santa Theresia Ilwayab Church, which has been in use since the 1990s, and providing essential services such as clean water, electricity, and sanitation to the facility.
