Minister Dávid Vitézy reports dispute over M1 motorway concession
Transport and Investment Minister Dávid Vitézy has reported a conflict regarding the M1 motorway concession held by companies associated with Lőrinc Mészáros. Following an unscheduled inspection of the motorway to verify works and contractual obligations, a dispute arose between ministry officials and the concessionaire.
The disagreement centers on the publication of photographic and video evidence captured during the inspection. The concessionaire’s communications head reportedly threatened legal action to prevent the release of this media, asserting that such materials could only be made public with their approval. Minister Vitézy characterized the situation as an absurdity, noting that the state pays approximately 77 million forints per hour for the operation and renovation of the motorways.
