Minister Hannatu Musawa receives traditional title from Emir of Daura

Hannatu Musawa, Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, has been conferred with the traditional title of ‘Mairamar Kasar Hausa I’ by the Emir of Daura, HRM Dr. Umar Faruk Umar.

The honor was bestowed during the closing ceremony of the Hausa Day celebrations in Katsina State. The title, which translates to ‘First Daughter of Hausa Land’, was presented in the presence of the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, and other traditional rulers.

Minister Musawa described the conferment as a deeply personal recognition of her Hausa roots and heritage. She stated that the title serves as a call to responsibility to protect, promote, and project Nigerian culture to ensure its values and traditions are preserved for future generations.
