Vitez arson: Four arrested, including son of Sarajevo Canton Minister

Four individuals, including two minors, have been arrested in connection with an arson attack at the Derubis Yachts facility in Vitez, which occurred on August 21. The fire caused significant material damage to caravans on the premises but resulted in no injuries.

Among those detained is the 17-year-old son of Kenan Magoda, the Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton. Magoda has publicly stated his support for the investigation, emphasizing that his position should not grant his son any privileges and that he expects the strictest legal consequences if responsibility is proven.

Prosecutors have requested one-month detention for the two minors on suspicion of causing public danger and damaging property. Two other suspects, identified as Edvin Muftić and Adnan Žilić, have been handed over to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Central Bosnia for further proceedings.

Investigations are also looking into allegations that the group was organized by Almedin Ćato, a known figure in the criminal underworld, though Ćato has not been arrested as he is reportedly abroad. The Derubis Yachts facility is co-owned by professional basketball player Džanan Musa.
