Telangana CM Revanth Reddy dismisses Minister Konda Surekha
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has dismissed Konda Surekha from the state Cabinet, removing her from the roles of Forest, Environment, and Endowment Minister. The decision follows a disciplinary recommendation from the Congress party's state unit after controversial remarks made by Surekha’s daughter, Konda Sushmitha, targeting the Chief Minister and other party leaders.
In addition to Surekha’s dismissal, the Chief Minister rescinded the appointment of Dr. G. Chinna Reddy as Vice Chairman of the Telangana State Planning Board. Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has been appointed to replace him. Other key administrative changes include the appointment of Nerella Sharada as Chairperson of the Telangana State Commission for Women and Gundu Sudharani as Chairperson of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA).
Surekha has criticized the move, accusing the Chief Minister of engaging in ‘blackmail politics’ and suggesting that disciplinary actions should also be considered against other leaders. The reshuffle follows high-level meetings between state Congress leadership and the party’s national high command in New Delhi.
