Peru Housing Minister manages earthquake relief and political appointments

Mauricio Arnillas González, the Minister of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation, has initiated several programs in Peru. In the Junín region, the ministry is providing temporary housing modules to families affected by earthquakes. To date, 48 modules have been installed in the Pumpunya center, with 482 additional modules planned for six districts including Chongos Bajo and Viques.

In Arequipa, Arnillas has faced scrutiny regarding political appointments within the ministry. During a visit to the Yura district, he promised land titling and the unblocking of water and sanitation projects. Among his recent appointments is Sitza Lita Romero Peralta as the Head of Institutional Image, a position previously criticized by the Lima College of Journalists for lacking specialized professional training in communication.
