Minister of Home Affairs visits Wali Nanggroe Aceh in Malaysia

Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian visited Penang, Malaysia, to visit the Wali Nanggroe of Aceh, Teungku Malik Mahmud Al-Haythar, who is currently undergoing medical treatment. During the visit, Karnavian conveyed greetings and prayers from President Prabowo Subianto for the Wali Nanggroe’s swift recovery.

The Ministry of Home Affairs emphasized that this visit serves to strengthen the relationship and communication between the central government and the people of Aceh. Officials noted that the Wali Nanggroe holds a significant role in Aceh’s customary and cultural leadership, acting as a unifying figure for the community under Law Number 11 of 2006 regarding the Government of Aceh.

According to reports, the Wali Nanggroe’s medical treatment is nearing completion and he has entered the recovery phase. If his recovery continues as planned, he is expected to return to Aceh in early September 2026.
