Sandra Pettovello defends Governor Sáenz during Salta political dispute

During an official event in Campo Quijano, Salta, to inaugurate the social and health services of the Tren 25 de Mayo, a political confrontation occurred between local La Libertad Avanza (LLA) leaders and Governor Gustavo Sáenz.

Provincial Senator Roque Cornejo reportedly avoided greeting Governor Sáenz, instead prioritizing the introduction of LLA deputies and councilors to the National Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello. The governor expressed his displeasure, describing the behavior as rude and ill-mannered.

In a surprising move, Minister Pettovello intervened to defend the governor, stating, “I greet the governor. Treat him well because I will get angry,” and later adding, “Whoever mistreats the governor will have to deal with me.” This intervention has fueled speculation regarding a potential political alliance between the provincial administration and the national government ahead of the 2027 elections.
