Minister Pierrakakis visits Drama to discuss school upgrades and funding

Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Minister of National Economy and Finance, visited Drama as part of a tour through Eastern Macedonia. During his visit, he met with Mayor Georgios Papadopoulos to discuss the municipality's financial needs, specifically focusing on rural road construction and the redevelopment of the city center.

A key topic of discussion was the upgrading of school infrastructure through the ‘Marietta Giannakou’ program. Pierrakakis visited the 4th Primary School of Drama, noting that while modern educational equipment is important, it must be accompanied by structural improvements to buildings. He emphasized that the program, which initially received state funding and later support from Greek banks, should be expanded to all school units.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted the return of 48 ecclesiastical relics from Bulgaria to Greece after 109 years.
