Minister S Keerthana condemns misogyny in political controversy
Tamil Nadu Industries Minister S Keerthana has condemned the use of misogyny as a political tool following a viral video controversy. The incident began when social media posts falsely identified a woman in a black dress as the minister, sparking widespread scrutiny of her appearance and personal life.
Keerthana clarified that the woman in the video was not her, but she questioned why a woman’s clothing and appearance should be subject to public trial and political hysteria. She argued that political opponents are attempting to shift discourse away from governance and performance toward manufactured narratives about the personal lives of women.
Keerthana also issued a message of support to the woman wrongly identified in the video, apologizing for the abuse she faced. DMK IT wing secretary and former minister TRB Rajaa supported the minister, stating that political rivalry does not justify misogynistic attacks or the demeaning of women's personal choices.
