Minister Óscar Puente clashes with Eduardo Madina and Antonio Ferreras

Spanish Minister of Transport Óscar Puente has engaged in a heated verbal exchange with former PSOE deputy Eduardo Madina and journalist Antonio Ferreras. The conflict began after Madina criticized the government's handling of the migration crisis in Ceuta, stating that no steps taken by the administration have been clearly understood.

Puente responded to Madina on social media, suggesting that Madina’s criticisms stem from resentment over losing the 2014 PSOE leadership primaries to Pedro Sánchez. This prompted a confrontation with Sexta presenter Antonio Ferreras, who accused the minister of attempting to silence critics and making insensitive remarks regarding Madina’s past experiences as a victim of ETA. Puente retaliated by calling Ferreras a “matón” (bully) and mocking his television audience levels.

The dispute highlights ongoing internal tensions within the PSOE and continued friction between government officials and media commentators.
