Minister Stoilković meets UN officials to boost municipal support

Ivan Stoilković, the Minister of Local Self-Government, met with United Nations representatives to discuss deepening cooperation for municipal support. The meeting included Rita Columbia, the UN Resident Coordinator, Armen Grigoryan, the UNDP Resident Representative, and Kalinka Gaber, a project manager from UNOPS.

Discussions focused on current and future projects aimed at supporting municipalities, encouraging inter-municipal cooperation, and fostering balanced regional development. Key initiatives highlighted include ‘Strengthening Municipal Councils’ and ‘Building Municipal Capacities for Project Implementation,’ which are being implemented through the UNDP in partnership with the Ministry.

The participants expressed a shared commitment to continuing the partnership through specific initiatives designed to strengthen local governance, improve development conditions, and enhance living standards at the local level.
