The Madras High Court has granted permission to Tamil Nadu Minister for Natural Resources TK Prabhu to pursue a ₹1 crore civil defamation suit. The legal action is directed against YouTuber Maridhas, as well as Google LLC, YouTube India, and X Corporation.

Prabhu, a minister for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, alleges that Maridhas published false and malicious claims regarding corruption and illegalities on YouTube and X. The minister contends these statements have caused significant damage to his reputation.
