Minister Torres reports 12,000 fewer migrants in Ceuta
Spanish Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, stated that the migration situation in Ceuta has changed, noting there are 12,000 fewer people than on August 10. According to figures attributed to the Civil Guard, this decrease is due to individuals being expelled or choosing to return to Morocco after learning they would not be granted international protection and would instead receive a police record.
Torres noted that work remains to assist those still on the streets and to process files for those in resources. Currently, approximately 5,000 adults are in established camps, while 2,500 minors are in resources provided by the Autonomous City. He emphasized that only those entitled to international protection or minors who cannot be reunited with families will remain.
