Minister Tournas inspects weather damage in Zoniana, Crete

Greek Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Evangelos Tournas, conducted an inspection in Zoniana to assess the extensive damage caused by extreme weather in the Mylopotamos region of Crete. Accompanied by Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Giannis Andrianos and local officials, Tournas emphasized the urgent need to record damages to facilitate rapid recovery.

The severe weather has resulted in significant destruction to agricultural roads, crops, and livestock, as well as widespread issues within residential settlements. The government's priority is to accurately document the needs of residents and businesses to ensure they can return to their daily lives and work as quickly as possible. Recovery efforts will focus on restoring access to agricultural holdings and providing necessary compensation to those affected.
