Minister Velkovski signs social service development grants with nine municipalities

Minister of Social Policy, Demography and Youth, Djoko Velkovski, has signed grant agreements with nine municipalities to develop local social services. These grants were awarded through the first public call under the Second Project for the Improvement of Social Services.

The initiative aims to establish and enhance various services tailored to local needs, including:

• Home care and assistance for the elderly and infirm in Gazi Baba, Petrovec, Saraj, and Valandovo. • Day centers for the elderly, focusing on active aging, in Plasnica, Bogovinje, and Jegunovce. • Day centers for persons with disabilities in Prilep and Krivogashtani.

The program is designed to decentralize social protection by strengthening the capacity of local governments and civil society organizations to provide accessible and sustainable support within the users' own communities.
