Minister Vellkovski advocates for youth inclusion in policy-making

Gjoko Vellkovski, the Minister of Social Policy, Demography, and Youth, emphasized the necessity of involving young people in policy creation during the closing event of the “Youth Policies According to Youth Needs” project in Manastir.

The project aimed to strengthen the participation of youth and civil society organizations in local and national decision-making processes. As part of the initiative, nine municipalities in the Pellagonija region, along with youth and civil society organizations, established the Regional Youth Platform to identify and transform youth needs into concrete actions.

Through five sessions of the Regional Platform, 24 priority measures were approved, 13 of which have already been implemented. These measures address critical areas including education, sports, public transport, mental and physical health, culture, tourism, environment, volunteering, and youth entrepreneurship. Vellkovski noted that the experience in Pellagonija serves as a model for advancing national youth policies.
