Minister Yandri Susanto shuts down illegal mining in Kragilan

Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, conducted a surprise inspection of an illegal soil excavation site in Kramatjati Village, Kragilan District, Serang Regency, on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

The inspection followed reports from local residents regarding illegal mining activities that caused respiratory issues due to spreading dust. Upon confirming the site lacked proper permits, Yandri Susanto instructed the Banten Provincial Licensing Service to shut down the operation immediately.

During the inspection, the Minister intercepted truck drivers to inquire about the destination of the excavated soil. The drivers reported they were transporting the material out of Banten Province. The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Banten Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office, the Environment and Forestry Office, and local Serang Regency authorities, as well as members of the TNI and Polri.
