Ministerio Público investigates armed attack on Translima driver

The Public Ministry has launched an investigation into an armed attack targeting a Translima bus driver in San Martín de Porres. The incident occurred on a Friday morning on Carlos Izaguirre Avenue when two individuals in a red vehicle intercepted the bus and opened fire.

The driver sustained minor injuries, including a graze to the cheek and cuts from shattered glass, and was transported to Hospital Negreiros, where he is reported to be out of danger. Authorities have cordoned off the intersection of Carlos Izaguirre and Santa Rosa avenues to conduct forensic work.

While the investigation for attempted homicide is ongoing, officials are considering a hypothesis involving ‘cobro de cupos’ (extortion), though this remains unconfirmed by fiscal and police inquiries.
